SIMON WINS THE GT
The 2011 Epic UK calendar
came to its traditional conclusion at Maelstrom games in Mansfield with
16 players gathering for 2 days of Epic gaming. After 5 games and
thousands of dice rolls Simon White (Orks) emerged victorious jumping
from 3rd to 1st with the final game to win his first Epic tournament.
Jon Mielcarek (Orks) and Dave Thomas (Ulthwe Eldar) rounded out the top 3
ahead of long time leader Darren Reeks (Orks).
The army awards
were just as hard fought as the gaming and Jon Mielcarek took the
Players Choice with his Orks and Dave Thomas the Judges choice with his
Eldar. As ever the sportsmanship award was very close with 12 players
getting nominations and Tim Hunt triumphing in a dice off to take the
award.
Thanks to Stugmeister for providing the stunning artwork which was given as prizes.
After
all the results were tallied Dave Thomas emerged as the 2011 Epic UK
champion regaining the trophy he last won in 2009.As in 2010 Steve
Gullick was runner up with Tim Hunt third.
Thanks to all the
players who attended the GT and all the tournaments throughout 2011 for
making this a highly successful year. See you all in 2012

Congratulations to Richard Laking (BT Eldar) who emerged victorious from the 16 Epic players at Open War.
Well done also to Dave Thomas (Ulthwe Eldar) and Kevin Bott (Codex Marines) who rounded out the top 3.
Richard topped off his day by taking the best army prize as well.
Open War also saw the debut of the Epic UK Tyranid list with Si Jenkins and Mike Thomas bringing their gribbly hordes - and fighting each other
to a draw in round 3.
Attention now turns to the final event of the year - the Epic-UK GT on November 26th/27th at Maelstrom, Mansfield.

this could buy their ticket as soon as possible that would be greatly appreciated
as we are under pressure from 2 other events at Maelstrom that weekend.
Epic UK are pleased to announce the conclusion of our longest project todate, Codex Tyranids. This introduces a brand new army to
the UK tournament scene and to those that want to use the list.
